Delaney's Birthday

It's hard to believe my baby is 17 now.
We celebrated at home with her best friend, Brooke in attendance.
Make a wish!
And she's a new driver too!

eye of the quilter

I'm very excited to be a part of the photo exhibit, "The Eye of the Quilter" which will be
shown during the International Quilt show in Houston, Tx. The theme this year is "Flora and Fauna"
For the first time, all three of my entries were accepted.
So, the above shot of a daylily...
This cute squirrel that was roaming along the lake
And this perfect example of PHI patterning in the sunflower.
Previous years' entries that got in are above- some sort of wooly worm I found in my backyard. I'm really in love with this photo- dark darks, white whites and wonderful texture.
And this picture of a cave in Arkansas. Caves are a fascination of mine.

Renaissance Faire at Bonner Springs 2013

We watched a bird display- Steve and Maura with the Bald Eagle
He always knows where things are and how to get there- I guess Steve puts him to the test often.
Archery anyone? Steve tried the crossbow- Delaney tried both and Maura and Brooke were beginners at the whole thing and did really well.
After the contest here's our two steam punkers. Steve borrowed the vest from Jim, the hat from me and the goggles from Tyler. Maura was unhappy about her boots (with good reason) but happy we remembered her gun.
Delaney enjoyed this very much and even tried flips for the first time.
Yes! I got my elf ears! I am looking forward to surprising some kids this Christmas at work.
The model setting works well in this setting. Looks like a tiny toy village.
