Just a bit of fun-
I couldn't resist playing around with this idea since most of Delaney's classmates think she looks like the republican VP canidate. Her school is doing some sort of mock election and, as I understand it, the canidates are ficticious, but she will be the "face" for the canidate. So, just for fun, let's see why.
She's has strong opinions and convictions. She has no problem with voicing her thoughts, either on paper or in conversations, making her a great communicator. She's likable and her appeal crosses sexist lines. She is a great mediator between different factions (boys vs. girls) and able to negotiate unions and agreements. She understand and supports those who are less fortunate than herself. She's a loyal and interested friend, working tirelessly to help any and all who ask for advice or a shoulder to cry on. She seeks guidance from those who may have a superior knowledge in a particular situation and is able to process and present that in the most advantageous way to each given situation. She volunteers her time for the betterment of her community. She is a friend to the environment and all the creatures dependent on her ability to be a consistent and loving caretaker. She has a strong moral compass that guides her through her everyday activities.
She might be almost 12, but she has all the makings of a great leader. that's why she gets my vote.
